Microneedling

Microneedling is a skin-rejuvenating procedure in which tiny needles create punctures inthe top layer of skin with the goal of improving overall texture and appearance. It is relatively r1sk—free and can have REAL benefits for your skin.

PRF VS PRP?

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) contains more cells and growth factors than Platelet—Rich Plasma (PRP). PRF is spun at a lower speed, which isolates the platelets and white blood cells from the red blood cells. PRP is spun at a much higher rate (6x the G—Force) in order to separate plasma from white and red blood cells. Spinning at that rate causes the good cells that we do want to be eliminated as well. PRF tubes are 100% NATURAL containing NO anticoagulant or additives! As a result, fibrinogen molecules can be converted to thrombin into fibrin during the blood clot formation.

PlateletBecause there is no anticoagulant in the tube that the blood is collected, the plasma actually forms a platelet and white blood cell—rich fibrin scaffold once injected into the treatment area. The fibrin clot allows for a much slower and longer release of the growth factors and cytokines (up to 1 week versus few hours with PRP), again resulting in more clinical results.

What Microneedling can do for you:

  • Treats acne
  • Evens skin tone
  • Reduces appearance of pores
  • Reduces dark circles and puffiness under the eyes
  • Reduces appearance of surgical/ acne scars,
  • Boosts collagen,
  • Improves fine lines and wrinkles,
  • Lightens hyperpigmentation and sun spots
  • Softens stretch marks,
  • Stimulates hair growth
  • Reduces broken capillaries and spider veins
  • Brings back the glow for fresher, younger—looking skin

At Moore Road MediSpa, we preform the microneedling procedure with the SkinPen. SkinPen can be used on all of skin types. A topical anesthetic is applied first, and then the SkinPen glides across the skin. The long-lasting result is smoother, firmer, more even-looking skin!

At Moore Road MediSpa, we offer “The Ultimate Blood Concentrate” option for you using your own Platelet—Rich Fibrin (PRF). Adding PRF greatly enhances the microneedling benefits! This procedure has also been called the Vampire Facial. We obtain PRF, by drawing a small amount of blood from your arm into a sterile tube. This sample is centrifuged to separate your platelets 8: white blood cells, which we use for the treatment, from your red blood cells. PRF is a fibrin matrix comprised of platelet cytokines, stem cells and growth factors. Platelets help your tissue heal and grow new cells. PRF is the next generation treatment of platelet concentration.

Your appointment will take approximately 1 hour. The numbing process takes about 30 minutes. While you are numbing, we draw your blood and centrifuge it to obtain the PRF. The microneedling takes about 30 minutes, depending on treatment area. The downtime is minimal with only 2—3 days of mild redness, depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment. You will notice an immediate “glow” to your skin and it will continue to improve over the next few weeks. Full results can be seen up to 6 months post treatment as collagen production continues. We recommend a series of at least 3 treatments about 4—6 weeks apart to see the best results. You can then do the treatment about once a year to maintain these results.

Chemical Peels

Advanced exfoliation technique with application of a chemical solution that creates a controlled alteration in the skin causing it to shed the superficial layers while achieving new epidermal growth and collagen stimulation. Depending on the age of the patient, type of skin tone and damage caused by either internal and or external individual characteristics factor into what type and percentage of chemical peel to be recommended by the esthetician.
